Surgical Care
Surgical care can be a stressful experience for you and your pet. At Eola Point Animal Hospital, Dr. Withers and Dr. Rybicki strive to provide high-quality, compassionate surgical care for your pet while giving you peace of mind.
We perform a range of surgical procedures for your pet, from routine spay/neuter surgeries to more complex soft-tissue and orthopedic procedures. During surgery, sophisticated equipment, including CO2 and pulse oximetry monitors, is used to monitor your pet's vital signs while a heating pad keeps your pet warm and maintains his or her body temperature. A skilled, experienced veterinary technician assists our veterinarians during surgery and keeps a close eye on each patient.
Dr. Withers has many years experience performing orthopedic surgeries, including cruciate repair and luxating patella repair. He has received special training in the Securos method for repairing torn anterior cruciate ligaments. Dr. Withers and Dr. Rybicki also are capable of performing a number of soft-tissue surgeries, from common procedures such as cat declaws and growth removals to major abdominal surgery.

Prior to surgery, your pet undergoes a thorough physical exam and laboratory testing, in order to spot any existing health problems that could complicate surgery. Based on these tests, we develop a safe, effective anesthetic protocol for your pet. Pain management is an important part of our pre-, intra- and post-operative care regimen.
At Eola Point Animal Hospital, we want your pet's surgical procedure to be as stress-free for you as possible. Our veterinarians and staff are glad to answer any questions you may have about your pet's surgery.
